The new song from Swedish House Mafia, “Moth to a Flame,” featuring The Weeknd, is already available on all digital platforms.
We heard a snippet of the new song back at the pre-MTV VMAs event, and the Swedish House Mafia fandom was eager for the band’s first track since announcing their comeback last July.
The house music supergroup had already confirmed the collaboration. Still, the official announcement came on October 19 when The Weeknd revealed that “Moth To a Flame” would be out on Friday 22.
Hence, Abel is riding the wave again toward 2022. After dominating 2020, the Canadian artist teams up with the EDM pathfinders as he rises again in 2021.
The Swedes released the singles “It Gets Better” and “Lifetime” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and 070 Shake to coincide with a performance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.
The three songs continue to build high expectations for the group’s next album, Paradise Again, with a release date set to 2022.
With “Moth to a Flame,” The Weeknd is crossing over to the EDM universe and reaching new audiences down on the dancefloor.
I can see us already dancing like moths around a flame, scorching our wings as we are enticed to come closer and closer to the beat.
Along with the new single, Swedish House Mafia have announced a World Tour for 2022, produced by Live Nation, being the group’s first concert series since 2012.
The trio was recently nominated for Best Artist — Electronic and Best Nordic Artist at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards, which will take place in Budapest on November 14.
Swedish House Mafia also celebrated their outstanding comeback with a special appearance on The Weeknd’s Memento Mori show on Apple Music.
